new blogger page

About static page:

There is something different in a blogger static page than a blogger post page. We simply use blogger post page to publish our daily content. On the other hand we use blogger static page to share something different than our blog's daily content or service.

Example:

To show an example I can tell you that, in this blog (Blogspot Yard) I simply use blogger post page to share my daily content like; this post. And I wrote Privacy Policy in a static page. I hope this made you clear.

URL:

There is a little different between blogger post page URL and static page URL.
Post page URL start with: YourDomain/Year/Month/Your-Custom-URL.html
Static page URL start with: YourDomain/p/Your-Post-Title.html
difference between blogger static page and post page

How to create a new static page:

Here comes the main topic of this post. Now I thing you have a basic idea about blogger static page and post page.
Now we will see how we can create a new static page in blogger. Follow the steps below, its so simple.

  1. First go to the bing site submission page. The link is: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url
  2. After landing there you will find a blank box to fill up with your blog homepage url. After that enter the cptcha and click SUBMIT button.  See the picture below for better understanding.
    submit your site to bing

  3. Here bing will show you a notification that "your request was successfully submitted". Time to log in now. Click "GREAT SIGN ME UP".
    sign in to bing webmaster

  4.  After clicking sign me up bing will ask you to enter your mail ID and password. Fill it and click Sign in
    sign in to hotmail

Part-2: Submitting Sitemap & Verifying ownership in BW

In this part I'll describe how to submit SEO friendly sitemap for your blogger blog in bing webmaster tools.

1. After completing the first part (Finishing the Sign in process) now bing will tell you to input a sitemap for your blog. In the add a sitemap box input this line:
http://www.yourblog.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=UPDATED
Be sure to replace yourblog.com with your own blog url.
submit sitemap for blogger

2. Now bing will ask you to verify your blog ownership. There are three methods available, choose the 2nd one and copy the generated meta tag.
bing meta tag

3. Time to put the peace of code in your blog HTML.
  • Login to your blogger account select your blog and click on template then Edit HTML.
  • Now search for </head> tag and paste the metatag (what you have copied from bing webmaster) just above </head>. This mean yo have to put the code between <head>.....</head> tag. I hope you understand.
  • Now save the template. This is it, the tutorial is down.

Final Word:

Here I tried my best to make the post better understanding. I have added maximum screenshot. For sure this post will help you to generate your blog traffic from bing. And if really this post helped you a little, please take few seconds to share in your social profiles.
